Our Group Retreat

A whole day, booked as one

Samay Mayu is a riverside gathering place built on a simple Andean idea: you get well by slowing down, not by pushing harder. The day runs from first light on the pier to the last drink by the water, and every part of it is included in one booking.

Groups stay small on purpose. Some sessions cap at nine. You will not be lost in a crowd, and you will not be rushed from one thing to the next.

The day, in order

From the pier to the fire

Seven experiences, one continuous day. Follow the current.

Rise & Breath

Breathwork at the end of the pier

The day opens with nothing in front of you but open water and a low green line of far shore. A cushion, a blanket, and thirty-five minutes of guided breathwork that asks nothing of you except that you showed up. Aromatherapy bowls set the air. The tide handles the rest.

  • Cushion, blanket and aromatherapy provided
  • Fully guided — no experience needed
  • Dress warm, the water is cool at that hour

Flight & Stillness

Yoga trapeze on the open lawn

The sling carries your weight so your spine can finally let go — supported inversions, decompression, and the particular joy of hanging upside down above a river. Three stands, three rotations of three, with a floor sequence on your mat between turns.

  • Trapeze time in a group of three
  • Your mat and hands-on spotting included
  • No upper body strength required
  • Wear fitted clothing, nothing loose

Flow by the River

Pilates · Yoga · Recovery

Mats on the dock, water at your feet, nothing but river sounds. A grounded flow that moves between Pilates precision and restorative holds, then closes with recovery work — the part most classes skip. Built for every level, including people who have not moved in a while.

  • Mats, blocks and bolsters provided
  • All levels — modifications offered throughout
  • Ends with guided recovery and stretch

Fire & Feast

Peruvian marinades and live fire

You do the cooking. It opens with a demo — how to make Causa three ways — then your own station, learning how ají panca, garlic, cumin and citrus actually work on meat. Grind your own spice blend with a mortar and pestle, then grill nine skewers over live fire and eat at one long table under white canopies.

  • Causa demonstration: chicken, tuna and veggie style
  • Nine skewers total — 3 chicken, 3 beef, 3 shrimp
  • Buffet of sides: arroz a la jardinera, huancaína, fried plantains, white rice
  • You keep your spice blend bag and wooden mortar bowl

A cocktails & mocktails workshop

Pisco, fresh herbs cut that morning, and golden hour on the water. A hands-on bar session where you build Peruvian classics and their zero-proof twins, then take the pisco and shaker home.

The Silent Social

Headphones on, by the water

As the afternoon winds down, the social opens. Wireless headphones with three channels, ready-to-eat food stands open around the lawn, and a cocktail sampler doing the rounds. Dance, drift between stands, or pull one earcup off and actually talk to someone. Mingle at your own volume.

  • Wireless headphones, three curated channels
  • Ready-to-eat food stands
  • Cocktail sampler included

Seeds of Intention

The closing ceremony

No fixed time — this happens whenever you're ready to head out. Come back to the water, headphones off, and the day gets named out loud. You leave holding one thing you intend to carry forward. Short by design — the point is to close the circle, not to add another session to it.

  • Everyone gathers, no experience required
  • A closing word and a seed to take with you
